Registration and Collection of Children
Responsibility Duration
Umbrella Theatre School is responsible for children only during the booked session hours.
Admittance
Children cannot be admitted before the official session start time.
Registration
Parents/Guardians must register their children at the beginning of each session.
Collection
Children must be collected promptly from the designated pick-up point at the end of the session.
Unaccompanied Departure
If older children are permitted to walk home alone, parents must inform the School Manager in writing.
Parent Presence
Parents/carers may wait on the premises but are not permitted into classes except during official presentations and shows.
Punctuality
Arrive a few minutes early to avoid disrupting classes. Persistent lateness may result in the loss of the child’s place.
Late Collection
Penalty
A penalty charge may be incurred for late collection, which may also result in the loss of the child’s place.
Uncollected Children
If parents cannot be contacted, Umbrella Theatre School will take the child to the nearest police station or contact social services.
Emergency Contact
In emergencies, please contact the School Manager as soon as possible.
Attendance Notification
arent/Carer must inform Umbrella Theatre School in advance if a student will be absent or needs to leave during a session for appointments.
In the Event of Illness or Accident
Sickness Policy
Children with temporary sickness (e.g., flu, diarrhoea, vomiting) will not be permitted to register.
Illness/Accident
Parents will be contacted and must collect their child to seek medical advice.
Emergency Treatment
In emergencies requiring hospital treatment, an ambulance will be called. Umbrella Theatre School will act in loco parentis if parents cannot be contacted.
Behaviour Management
Policy
Umbrella Theatre School uses positive and effective behaviour management strategies.
Misbehaviour
Students who cause significant disruption or safety concerns may be asked to leave. Parents will be contacted. This decision is at the sole discretion of Umbrella Theatre School.
Breaks and Lunch

No food, drink, or chewing gum is permitted during classes. Consumption is allowed only during designated break times.

Packed lunches are required for full-day workshops. Lunches should:

Be clearly labelled with the child’s name

Umbrella Theatre School operates a strict no-nuts policy and a no food-sharing policy.
Payments
Reservation and Payment
Payment in full is required in advance to reserve a place.
Payment Methods
Payments can be made by cash, credit/debit card, or via a payment plan.
Payment Plans
For termly classes, payments may be divided into four equal instalments per term.

Cancellation
To cancel a place and halt future payments, the School Manager must be informed no later than the final day of the current term.
Refund Policy
Refunds are not normally provided. In exceptional circumstances, up to 50% may be refunded at the discretion of Umbrella Theatre School.
Staff
Right to Change
Umbrella Theatre School reserves the right to change teaching staff at any time.
Standards
All staff employed by Umbrella Theatre School:

Have a minimum of 3 years teaching experience

Hold enhanced DBS clearance
Cancellation of Sessions
Umbrella Theatre School is not liable for cancellations due to reasons beyond its control (e.g., fire, flood, extreme weather). Any compensation offered is at the discretion of Umbrella Theatre School.
Clothing
Dress Code

Suitable clothing and footwear are required.

Umbrella Theatre School uniform or plain black clothing is preferred for weekend schools.

Comfortable clothing is permitted during holiday workshops.

Toilet Training and Emergency Assistance

Only toilet-trained children are accepted.

If a child requires a nappy for emergencies, parents must either:

Agree that the nappy remains on for the duration of the class, or

Be available to return if called for assistance.

To preserve comfort and dignity, Umbrella staff will assist children in changing wet clothes if necessary.
Personal Belongings
Umbrella Theatre School is not responsible for damage to or loss of personal belongings.
Please ensure all clothing (including Umbrella Theatre School uniform) is labelled.
Agreement
A signed copy of these Terms and Conditions is required before your child may attend their first session.
