Payment Terms for Umbrella Theatre School

1. Payment Plans & Fees

1.1 Upon enrolment, students (or their guardians) commit to paying tuition fees through either:

  • Payment Plan: A monthly instalment plan that spreads term fees over a four-month period.

  • Upfront Term Payment: A single payment covering all 12 weeks of tuition per term, due within 30 days of the enrolment date.

1.2 Under the Payment Plan, payments are charged automatically on the date of enrolment each month, regardless of the class schedule, to ensure continuous participation.

1.3 Under the Upfront Term Payment option, the representative child’s full term fees must be paid within 30 days of their enrolment date. Failure to do so will result in the same late payment process and penalties outlined in Section 3.

2. Payment Methods

2.1 Umbrella Theatre School accepts a variety of payment methods including credit cards, debit cards, and other approved methods.

2.2 All payment details are securely processed and stored through our trusted provider, Stripe, ensuring your financial information remains confidential.

3. Late Payments & Legal Timeline

3.1 A 30-day grace period applies to all late payments. If payment is not received by then, a late fee of 10% of the total outstanding balance will be added.

3.2 Late payment process:

  • After 2 weeks: First reminder notice issued.

  • After 3 weeks: Final reminder issued.

  • After 30 days: Invoice issued with late fee applied.

  • After 45 days: Formal legal letter requesting immediate settlement or a Payment Plan arrangement.

  • After 60 days: Legal summons initiated to recover outstanding fees.

3.3 Students may be suspended from classes if fees remain unpaid beyond the grace period. Participation can only be reinstated once the balance, including any late fees, is cleared.

4. Cancellation Policy

4.1 Payment Plans can be cancelled at any time, provided at least one month’s written notice is given.

4.2 Written notice must be submitted via email to the school administration.

4.3 During the cancellation notice period, all fees remain payable. No refunds will be issued for partial months or weeks attended during this time.

5. Refunds

5.1Refund Policy: Refunds are not normally provided. In exceptional circumstances, up to 50% may be refunded at our sole discretion.

5.2 If you choose to cancel, no refunds will be issued for the remainder of the current term or month in which cancellation is made.

6. Changes to Fees

6.1 Umbrella Theatre School reserves the right to adjust Payment Plan fees or term fees.

Payment Plan Explained

Our monthly payment plan is designed as a convenient and predictable alternative to paying large term fees upfront. Instead of invoicing you for each term individually, we spread the total annual cost of your classes evenly across 12 monthly instalments.

How Your Payments are Calculated

We guarantee 36 classes per year (split into 3 terms of 12 weeks each). Here is an example
of how the monthly payment plan breaks down:

Standard Term Fee: £270.00
Number of Terms: × 3
Total Annual Cost: £810.00

Monthly Payment: £67.50 per month

*Billed evenly over 12 months of the year

Frequently Asked Questions

Why am I being charged during holiday months or when there are no classes?

Your monthly payment is not a direct charge for that specific month’s scheduled classes. Because the plan takes the total annual cost (36 weeks of classes) and divides it evenly by 12, regular payments will naturally continue during the holidays. You are strictly paying for the scheduled term weeks—we have simply distributed the cost to help families budget.
Are terms always the exact same length?

While the way the calendar falls may cause term dates to shift slightly across the year, our
commitment to 12 weeks of classes per term remains constant. The payment plan remains the same regardless of these calendar shifts, providing you with a reliable and predictable outgoing.
